US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was received by President Abdullah Gül after meeting with Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Istanbul.

Talks held at Tarabya Palace behind closed doors lasted about 2 hours and centered on Syria.

President Abdullah Gül said that Syria's integrity should be preserved, stressing that all sectors should be represented in the new period in Syria. Clinton left Turkey after holding talks with President Gül.
