Maliki told a press conference that noone could question him in parliament before the parliament improved itself and stressed that there was not going to be a vote of confidence. He said acting otherwise in parliament would cause the country to pay a hefty price.

He also said that if the problems in Iraq were not to be resolved by way of dialogue, early elections could be held.

He alluded to Nujayfi by showing reaction to those who launched an initiative to unseat the government and said that he whose voice was heard the most was him who violated the constitution the most.
