In a statement Egyptian Election Commission had announced that official results of the election would be announced today.

Addressing a press conference Egyptian Presidential Election Commission Member Hatem Bicato said they are forced to postpone election result announcement because of objections towards election.

Bicato said that the declaration of election results have postponed for an indefinite period of time and both candidates have filed objections on several places towards 2nd round of election.

Bicato underscored that the election results will be declared after evaluating all objections however he did not give any definite date for the announcement.

The run-off for the first presidential election after 30 year rule of Hosni Mubarak was contested between Freedom and Justice Party Candidate Muhammed Mursi and Last Prime Minister of former regime Ahmed Shafiq on June 16-17.

Egyptian media reported that according to unofficial results Mursi has won the election while Ahmed Shafiq's office had claimed that Shafiq has won the election.
