United States has welcomed EU decision to stop purchases of Iranian oil and starting implementation of sanctions.
A White House statement said the joint decision of 27 EU countries has openly shown concerns of international community over Iranian nuclear program and determination to find a peaceful solution.
Washington administration said that the EU decision has left Iran face to face with making a preference between fulfilling its obligations and isolation which is the part of necessary diplomatic efforts regarding the issue.
The statement reminded the technical negotiations to be held in Istanbul and said that continuation of negotiations is a chance for Iran.
