A group of students in London protested the government with an alternative Mini-Olympics.

Students called on the British government to invest the Olympics money in their future rather than spending it for the Games.

Joblessness, increase in university tuitions and rising house rents leaves especially the young in a tough situation in the country.

Angry students, demanding the money spent for the Olympics to be invested in their future, protested the British government.

“Millions of Pounds have been spent to hold the Olympics in London; however the young are really giving a hard struggle to survive. We call on the government to take action to eliminate all barriers it previously put before the young under the name of the austerity measures which resulted in higher tuition fees, rising unemployment, and near impossible conditions to make a good life and start a family,” they told press.

Students said that the government in the UK just threw the young into a dustbin.

To protest all cuts in public spending and austerity measures, they set up a Mini-Olympics site close to the Olympics Park, and held a race under the title “Austerity Olympics”.

They even gave the winner a medal.
